Wall Street & Lower Manhattan - New York City, USA (HD)
Copyright: ®Epic Argentina 2018 Website: http://www.epicheaven.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EpicMediaArgentina/timeline/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/epicargentina ---- Wall Street & Lower Manhattan - New York City, USA (HD) Lower Manhattan is defined most commonly as the area delineated on the north by 14th Street, on the west by the Hudson River, on the east by the East River, and on the south by New York Harbor. When referring specifically to the Lower Manhattan business district and its immediate environs, the northern border is commonly designated by thoroughfares approximately a mile-and-a-half south of 14th Street and a mile north of the island's southern tip: Chambers Street from near the Hudson east to the Brooklyn Bridge entrances and overpass. Two other major arteries are also sometimes identified as the northern border of "Lower" or "Downtown Manhattan": Canal Street, roughly half a mile north of Chambers Street, and 23rd Street, roughly half a mile north of 14th Street. The Lower Manhattan business district forms the core of the area below Chambers Street. It includes the Financial District (often referred to as Wall Street, after its primary artery) and the World Trade Center site. At the island's southern tip is Battery Park; City Hall is just to the north of the Financial District. Also south of Chambers Street are the planned community of Battery Park City and the South Street Seaport historic area. The neighborhood of TriBeCa straddles Chambers on the west side; at the street's east end is the giant Manhattan Municipal Building. North of Chambers Street and the Brooklyn Bridge and south of Canal Street lies most of New York's oldest Chinatown neighborhood. Many court buildings and other government offices are also located in this area. The Lower East Side neighborhood straddles Canal. North of Canal Street and south of 14th Street are the neighborhoods of SoHo, the Meatpacking District, the West Village, Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Nolita, and the East Village. Between 14th and 23rd streets are lower Chelsea, Union Square, the Flatiron District, Gramercy, and the large residential development Peter Cooper Village—Stuyvesant Town in the eastern part.

New York Strangles Small Business
Kamal Saleh runs a small store in New York City. He was recently given a summons to appear in court for violating one of New York's many rules. His crime was selling cigars... 11 cents too cheaply. Subscribe to my YouTube channel: http://youtube.com/johnstossel Like me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JohnStossel/ Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/johnstossel It's not often people complain about things being too cheap. But New York City says stores may not sell tobacco below a certain price. "Very cheap products should no longer be available. It deters children from starting smoking," says Dr. Kurt Ribisl, who studies tobacco policy and testified at the New York hearings in favor of a tobacco price floor. "Cigarettes are the most lethal product ever introduced into interstate commerce." John Stossel agrees cigarettes are dangerous. But he asks, "Shouldn't individuals have the right to decide for themselves if they want to smoke? And what is the cost to New York City businesses in complying with all these regulations?" For tobacco alone, the regulations are 47 pages long. Kamal faces a $2,000 fine, a huge amount of money for a small store owner. "You have to sell a lot of sodas and sandwiches in order to make the $2,000," says Andrew Tilem, Kamal's lawyer. Andrew represents a lot of small businesses in New York and says the other regulations are hurting small businesses. "It's the big guy who basically can hire lawyers. It's the little guy who's trying to pinch his pennies to make a dollar that has the biggest problem." Tilem say small stores are constantly going in and out of business, but "the big business community is thriving. You see Starbucks. You see 7-Eleven. You see Target, opening new stores." Has New York become a city of too much regulation where only big businesses can thrive? Produced by Naomi Brockwell. Edited by Joshua Swain.

Why growing lettuce in New York City is a growing business
In cities like New York and across the river in Newark, rooftops and abandoned buildings are underutilized pieces of real estate now being turned into agricultural operations. Can these urban farms address the coming global food crisis, or are they simply a growing business in America? Economics correspondent Paul Solman reports. New York LLC - Formation Documents (online filing)
Step-by-step instructions: https://www.llcuniversity.com/new-york-llc/forms/ To form an LLC in New York, file your Articles of Organization with the Department of State. You can file your New York LLC Articles of Organization one of two ways; online or by mail. ONLINE - file Articles of Organization: http://www.dos.ny.gov/corps/index.html BY MAIL: file Articles of Organization: http://www.dos.ny.gov/forms/corporations/1336-f.pdf The name of the LLC Formation Document for the State of New York is called the Articles of Organization. This document is not complicated and it contains basic information, including your LLC's name, your LLC's office address, and the county where your LLC office is located. There are two ways you can file your Articles of Organization with the State. You can file by mail or you can file online. If you file by mail, you will print out your Articles of Organization and then mail them to the State along with a check or money order to pay the filing fee. If you file online, you will fill out your Articles of Organization on the State's website and then pay the filing fee with a debit or credit card. The State charges a one-time fee in order to form your LLC. If you chose to hire a Registered Agent for your New York LLC, you will also list their address in your Articles of Organization. [=================================] -- FILING FEE -- $200 -- ACCEPTED FORMS OF PAYMENT -- Check or Money Order / Debit or Credit Card [=================================] -- FILING BY MAIL INSTRUCTIONS -- Mail your Articles of Organization with your check or money order (for $200, made payable to the “Department of State”) to: Department of State Division of Corporations One Commerce Plaza 99 Washington Avenue Albany, NY 12231 [=================================] -- EXPECTED APPROVAL TIME -- The filing fee amount is the same for either option. The only difference is the method of payment and the approval time. If you file by mail, you'll pay the State filing fee with a check or money order, and your LLC will be approved in 1-2 weeks. If you file online, you'll pay the State filing fee with a debit or credit card, and your LLC will be approved within a few minutes. [=================================] -- WHAT DOES APPROVAL LOOK LIKE -- Once you submit your Articles of Organization along with the filing fee, the State will review and process your documents. If there are any issues with your filing, the State will contact you and tell you what corrections need to be made. If you filed by mail and there are no issues, your LLC will be approved in 1-2 weeks. If you filed online and there are no issues, your LLC will be approved within a few minutes. Either way, you will receive a Filing Receipt back from the State once your LLC is approved. This confirms your LLC is now a legally formed business in the State of New York. [=================================] -- FILING RECEIPT -- Your Filing Receipt will contain your LLC's name, the date filed, and your Department of State ID Number (DOS ID Number). The DOS ID Number is unique to your New York LLC and you will use it when dealing with the State. New York does not issue duplicate Filing Receipts, so it's very important to make a photocopy, or two, and keep the photocopy with your business records. British Airways Business Class Airbus A318 London City to New York JFK FULL FLIGHT
This is one flight that had been on my hit list for a long time and finally I was able to make it work and secure a seat on it, the British Airways all-Business Class Airbus A318 service from London City to New York. Tried to capture as much of the experience as possible so hopefully the video is enjoyable for you. This flight was also rather empty with just 12 passengers on board including myself which certainly enhanced the 'exclusivity' factor greatly. Qantas 747-400 BUSINESS Class: New York - Los Angeles - Sydney (QF18)
A video report of a recent flight with Qantas from New York City (JFK), to Los Angeles (LAX) and then on to Sydney (SYD). I was fortunate enough to fly in business class in seat 7F in one of their new refurbished Boeing 747-400s. The report includes footage from the New York BA Galleries Lounge and the LAX OneWorld Business lounge. *I should note that I mucked up the take--off and landing sequence with the first take-off footage actually showing us leaving LAX. Apologies for that, but at night, it looks (almost) the same. :) Moral of the story, don't edit a movie when jet lagged! We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. Qatar Airways Business Class Airbus A350 XWB New York JFK to Doha Review
Please see the full trip report on our blog: https://travelingfoody.blog/?p=4149 Overall impression: My overall impression of this flight is excellent. The crew was professional and efficient in handling our meal orders and requests. They were also proactive in anticipating our needs during the flight. The seat, as I reviewed before is amazingly comfortable for both lounging and sleeping. The only negatives I can think of were the grumpy ground staff and the subpar food options at the British Airways lounge in JFK. I'll give this one an 8 out of 10. United Airlines Review - Business Class from Lisbon to New York City (and NYC Pizza)
We flew from Lisbon to NYC on United Airlines - business class food review. ►Check out my NYC food guide: https://goo.gl/xubRjU ►Get T-shirts: https://goo.gl/3dV4uu ►Watch the full series: https://goo.gl/Mh0IDi On Day 28 of our Round The World Trip with Star Alliance we flew from Lisbon, Portugal to Newark (but going to New York City) on United Airlines business class. I wasn’t expecting that much from United Airlines, but it turned out to be a great flight, with amazing service, and surprisingly very good food. Here’s the full United Airlines flight review. 4:57 Lunch on United Airlines: Lisbon to New York City - Since we boarded the flight in the morning, the first meal we at on the flight is lunch. I chose to order salmon with couscous with some kind of sauce on it. The salmon paired with the couscous and tomatoey sauce was delicious. It was a full gourmet meal experience on business class. 9:55 Dinner on United Airlines - After taking a nap for a few hours and watching a couple movies, it was time for another meal… I think it was dinner this time? Since they had salmon on the menu again, I couldn’t resist. Again, it was good. 11:07 Newark Liberty International Airport - We arrived to Newark airport after about a 6 hour flight from Lisbon, Portugal. From the airport after passing from customs and immigration we went to the train station and bought tickets for $13 from Newark to NY Penn Station Manhattan. 13:26 Courtyard New York Manhattan / Chelsea - In New York City, my wife and I stayed at Courtyard New York Manhattan / Chelsea, located just a 5 minute walk from NY Penn Station. We checked into the hotel and our room was fantastic with a great view of NYC. 15:33 Joe's Pizza - Without a doubt, pizza is one of the most famous foods to eat in NYC, and so it was only fitting that my first meal in NYC would be pizza. After walking around for a while, Ying and I were not too far from Joe's Pizza, one of the many legendary pizza slice restaurants in New York City. The pizza was pretty good, and it had actually been a while since I had eaten pizza. Price - $2.75 for cheese slice, $3.75 for pepperoni. It was a good but tiring day, and I our flight on United Airlines was very nice. Welcome to New York City - more food coming! Disclaimer and Thank You: Thank you to Star Alliance and their Round The World tickets (http://www.staralliance.com/en/round-the-world) for sponsoring my business class flights. Thank you to Courtyard New York Manhattan / Chelsea for sponsoring my stay in NYC. I personally paid for all food and attractions in this video, and I decided what to do and where to eat. China Airlines 777 Business Class New York JFK to Taipei Taoyuan
Contrary to my previous business class flight with China Airlines, on this flight the crew encouraged me to take as much video and pictures as I want and never mentioned anything about a "copyright violation" that the previous crew warned me about. The crew was absolutely phenomenal. Several crew members took time to speak with me during the flight. In particular, the purser encouraged me to give them tips for improvement. She told me that an airline must always be a step ahead of its competitors even if they are already ahead. Although everyone loves China Airline's cabins and service improvements since the image overhaul, she was very wary of the praise because of the significant concentration of highly rated airlines like Cathay, Singapore, the Japanese and Korean airlines, and EVA in Asia. She also spoke about the mainland airlines as posing significant pressure and told me not to underestimate their power and market share. All they have to do is make similar improvements and can easily squeeze out her home airlines. It is clear that she takes pride in her work with passengers as well as the accomplishments by her company and I really admire that. Another crew member was a more grandpa type figure. He appeared much older than the rest of the crew. When he saw me taking videos of the snack boxes he asked me if I would like to take some with me to eat after my flight. He then grabbed me by the arm and handed me almost an entire box worth of snacks. We then went through each snack box and he literally dumped 4-5 of the little cookies and cakes from each box in my arms. He then saw how much I was holding and handed me a small paper bag to store all the snacks he gave me. It was pretty funny. He was really like a grandpa and it was very endearing how generous and friendly he was throughout the flight. While China Airlines has the most beautiful business cabin, previously there were some service inconsistencies that made it less stellar than its competitor EVA. However it seems like some of those issues have been worked out. The wine list has been updated. The amenity kit has been upgraded and the plastic bowls have been replaced with glassware. I was told that these service improvements was timed with the introduction of the A350. Before my flight I checked the seat map online and found the entire aft business cabin to be empty. I quickly selected a seat in the aft cabin hoping the airline won't move me when I check in. Luckily for me, China Airlines kept my seat and I had an entire business cabin to myself. The only issue is that the aft cabin is located behind the economy boarding door, so it means the all of the economy and premium economy passengers will stream pass you as you sit there in your seat exchanging awkward looks with them. However in return, I had a whole section of a 777 to myself for 15+ hours with a view of the engines. Overall I would not hesitate to fly with China Airlines again thanks to this unforgettable crew.

Air China 747-8 Business Class CA982 New York JFK to Beijing Capital International Airport
Filmed on Nikon D5500 with Sigma 17-50 f2.8mm lens. Despite the many negative reviews of Air China, I found myself on a comfortable flight with a very attentive and friendly crew. The crew were all smiles. They refilled/offered drinks constantly and addressed each passenger by name. One of the crew saw me taking videos and so she showed me around the business class cabin. We chatted about her own experiences of being a flight attendant at Air China. Perhaps the biggest lesson I learned was that apparently management does not fit in enough beds for the crew in order to save weight, therefore many FAs find themselves needing a first class or business bed to get enough rest to deal with the constantly changing time zones. This also happened at China Eastern where she worked at for four 4 years before changing airlines. This explains previous flight reports on the internet of passengers complaining about sleeping FAs in the premium cabins. Honestly I felt very bad for them and it really is true not to judge a book by its cover since the situation is outside of their control. The FA also told me that they are definitely aware that they are not as good as Singapore or ANA but Air China is trying to improve its experience. During the dessert service, she actually let me take all 3 different desserts (cake, tiramisu, and fruits) when I couldn't make up my mind. The bed was completely 180 degrees lie flat. I was able to get about 7 good hours of sleep. I have heard about Air China keeping the cabin too warm, but it was actually perfect on this flight. The duvet was large, soft and very comfortable. My experience was definitely helped by the fact that I had a complete row of business class seat available to me. Seat 11A is actually the most private seat because of the way the row of seats are all angled slightly to the right. Therefore 11A is the most forward of all the seats in the nose of the 747-8. Nevertheless, catering still needs substantial improvement. My first meal was fairly tasty. The chicken was spicy and fragrant but the presentation didn't look too great. My pre-arrival "chicken" noodle soup was absolutely tasteless even though it looked not that bad. If they can change their business class seats to 1x2x1 rather than 2x2x2 and substantially improve their meals, I would definitely look forward to flying them again.

Cathay Pacific Business Class Hong Kong to New York CX846
Filmed on a Nikon D5500 and a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 lens at 1080p60. Some interesting facts about this flight: According the captain this flight requires 137 tons of fuel, which is almost the full capacity. On approach to JFK, we did the Canarsie approach which requires a sharp low attitude turn right before the wheels touch the runway. It is not as dramatic as the famous checkerboard approach at the old Hong Kong airport. Hong Kong CX846 is timed perfectly for connecting flights, especially for business travelers. On this particular flight, the entire business class was full, so no extra amenity kits for me. For the lounge, I visited The Pier Business class lounge, which just like the first class lounge felt like a comfortable and fancy living room. There was lots of space to lounge around. The showers in The Pier are a bit smaller compared to the first class lounge but it is fully stocked and perfect for a connecting passenger to refresh before their next flight. The Pier Business Class lounge is built alone one long continuous corridor and includes a tea room, a noodle bar, a regular bar and a food court. The food court had a variety of Western food and desserts, including pizza and cheesecake. A lot of people were in the noodle bar, which seemed to serve the same stuff as The Wing Business Class noodle bar. It is honestly very luxurious to have a bartender for an actual bar in a business class lounge that also doesn't charge for alcohol. I ordered a Cathay Delight and champagne to enjoy during my layover. My flight had just arrived from London and the excellent Cathay service started immediately once I was onboard. On the 4 class 777, there is smaller business class cabin immediately behind first class. It is very private and you get served first. It almost feels like a mini-first class since there are only 8 seats in that section. Cathay once again changed their amenity kit to a more traditional form factor. The prior kits I got was the highly criticized wrap around string kit, then this was quietly changed to a kit shaped more like a purse and now it has been changed to a pouch-like kit. The content has remained the same. The meals on board were good. I really liked the scallop appetizer and garlic bread but the main course was disappointing and tasted like anything you can easily get from a typical Chinese restaurant. The burger was excellent. The bun was so soft and crispy that I was surprised it came from a plane. Also it was served with a nice size bottle of ketchup. If only they also served fries. I never found breakfast on a plane to be good and this time it wasn't very memorable either. Drink wise, I really enjoyed the various Cathay cocktails, and they were all beautifully presented. The seat continues to be one of the best business class seat in the sky. Private and spacious. I was able to sleep for a full 8 hours and arrived feeling pretty refreshed. Overall it was a solid trip with Cathay with good drinks and food and an awesome lounge.

Hello fellas! I recently visited New York during the US-Open Tennis Championship. It would only be only a quick citytrip and I tried to keep my expenses as low as possible. But when I ran over this awesome offer from Delta I couldn't resist booking my flights in Business Class. I spent a total of 1'800 CHF for all flights, the return would be on KLM through Amsterdam. This was a great deal and it allowed me to check out KLM's new world business class, fly in a 747 again and be on an american carrier in business for the first time. I have always wanted to feel american premium hospitality. This is the first of all 3 flights of this particular trip. ZRH-JFK aboard Delta Airlines in their Delta "One" Business Class cabin. The seat is similar to SWISS, Austrian or Finnairs Business Class seat. The seat itself is a bit narrow but pretty comfortable. All window seats are single what improves the privacy a lot! So therefore this seat has a couple of advantages. The FA were pretty nice. No bad mood or attitude, they all were very kind, pretty motivated, attentive and helpful. Only thing I missed was a personal touch by the FA's, f.e. a "welcome mr. xx " during boarding or "mr.xx here is your chicken" instead of "5A you got the chicken". But that's only a small issue. Personally I would fly Delta Business again! The food was pretty good aswell! Soup and Salad tasted good, the soup tasted a bit smoky but that was good too in a different way. Everything seemed to be pretty fresh. The Rösti were a bit salty and a little overcooked but crunchy. Chicken was delicious, no dryness at all. The seat itself was fully lie flat. It's a leather seat but that wasn't a big difference to other material. The screen was a bit small but quality of the IFE and choice was pretty good! Hope you enjoyed the review, if you have any questions just drop your comment below! Hello fellas For those of you who have noticed, I had to delete the first version of this review because I used copyrighted music, my mistake. I just edited new music to it and reuploaded again. I'm sorry that you have to rewrite your comment if you already dropped one ;) Sorry for any inconvenience! So some details about this review...this is the return flight of my short NYC trip in September 2015. I could choose between Delta's non stop flight to Zurich, KLM or Air France. Since KLM is a very likeable airline and added brand new business class seats to their planes I decided to give it a try. Our plane was a rather old 747-400 combi, meaning that there is a cargo compartment behind the economy class. I really enjoyed their business class service, everything was pretty well organized, the delta lounge is pretty nice and I really liked that new seat. Pretty comfortable, a good amount of privacy, a very large screen and some nice details make this a good business class seat. And I had my best and deepest sleep ever, though I'm not quite sure if the seat was that great or the alcohol hit me hard this time ;) The crew was doing a great job, they were always friendly and helpful, very attentive and in a good mood. Initially one of the FA's was a bit skeptic about me filming all the time, but after a nice chat about why I would walk around with a camera all the time she was totally relaxed about it. The food was good too, meal service started quickly after takeoff and there was enough time to get a good amount of sleep. Only thing I can say is that I didn't like the plastic dishes. Anyhow, KLM offers a great business class product and I would fly them anytime again! KLM Boeing 747-400 Combi | Business Class | Lower Deck | Amsterdam - New York JFK
Hi, as promised, this is my new travel report that deals with my flight from Amsterdam to New York in KLM's business class. Overall a very enjoyable flight with a great crew, nice food and a comfortable seat. My seat was 4A on the lower deck, which is one of the very few single business class seats on the Boeing 740-400 Combi. It comes with direct aisle access and an extra amount of privacy. Before boarding, I spent some time in the KLM Crowne lounge. It is a really big lounge, with different areas. I found the food selection a bit limited, but all things considered, I liked it. The flight attendants and everybody involved were kind and helpful. My special thanks go to them. As always, I have to mention that while I constantly try to improve my videos, I am no film professional whatsoever. Nevertheless I want to make the videos as entertaining and informative as possible. As always I wrote a short article on my blog: http://the-jetstreamer.com/klm-747-400-combi-from-amsterdam-to-new-york-in-business-class/ Thank you for watching, liking and subscribing. Sharing helps my channel, too. Xiamen Airlines Business Class Inaugural 787 New York JFK Flight
My first inaugural trip experience on board a critical flight in the history of XiamenAir, one of Asia's largest and safest airlines. While XiamenAir is almost 33 years old, it has only recently begun to expand outside the Asia market. I simply had to be on this flight especially given that it would be the debut of the brand new 1-2-1 business class seat on XiamenAir. There is much to say about this flight that would exceed Youtube’s video description length. However, I wanted to talk about the XiamenAir management. After we took off, the man sitting in seat 1A started going down the aisle and talking with each of the passengers, many of which already knew each other. As he came closer to my seat all the way in the back, I was unsure if he would talk to me since we don’t know each other. However, he did came by and welcomed me onboard. One of the senior pursers came by as he was talking to me and told me that he is actually the CEO of XiamenAir, Mr. Zhao Dong. Mr. Dong then actually apologized that everyone knew each other and so it might be uncomfortable or awkward for me, but also remarked that everyone is friends here since we are flying together. When I told him that I specifically came to fly on this flight, he became very surprised and gave me his business card. He asked me why I would travel so far for this flight. When I told him about my childhood dream of being a pilot and my love of flying, he invited over the captain of this flight, who was on a break, to talk to me. I found out that our captain was their most senior pilot as he is the director of their flight operations department, and an instructor pilot on the 737/787. Mr. Li told me that an empty airliner is no fun to fly and so welcomed me as well. From Mr. Dong, I found out that our purser is their most senior purser, who is in charge of the training of their 5000 flight attendants. When I mentioned to her the English mistakes I had found on the menu, she prompted relayed this to Mr. Dong, and promised me this would be corrected. At the end of the flight, Mr. Dong again thanked me for being on this flight. Our captain also insisted I disembark before him even though he had to be at a press conference. Never before had I heard upper level management be so open to feedback and treat their customer with such respect or interest. The XiamenAir’s flight crew were exceptional as well. They were so full of personality, and I truly found them to be interesting and fun to talk to. I interacted with two crew members in particular. Both were incredibly sweet. As the crew were taking dinner orders and delivering meals, one of them came and apologized that it was taking so long to get to me. She told me that one of the items already ran out, and was worried that other options would run out before they get to me, so she decided to come to see first before some of the other seats. It was pretty funny later on in the flight when a member of the press saw what I was eating and told me she was disappointed that they ran out of the meal I was having. The other crew member spent a while talking to me about my travels and mentioned to me that she had met several US bloggers while on the inauguration flight to Seattle. She love to joke around and was very playful. One can argue that since the CEO and the press were onboard, it is understandable that the FAs on this flight are their best. However, it also means that Xiamen is capable of training and attracting flight crews of this quality. Now that Xiamen’s long haul business class includes direct aisle access in business class using the same seat as Cathay, American, EVA, and China Airlines, I don’t find it hard to believe that one day they will be rated as 5 stars as well, especially if the management is genuinely able to listen to their travelers.

China Airlines Business Class 777 Taipei to New York JFK CI12
Filmed on a Nikon D5500 and a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 lens at 1080p60. Step onboard China Airline’s beautiful 777. The cabin is truly one of the coziest and inviting cabins I have ever step into. Most airline cabins are filled with boring off-color white and metallic finishes, but on China Airlines’ 777 you will find wood accents, warm mood lighting, and bright and crisp clear screens. Often the seats are the most colorful furnishings in an airplane cabin, but on China Airlines the entire cabin, including the bathroom, come together to form a unique and beautiful flying experience. The galley was redesigned around a beautiful bar called the “Sky Lounge.” While the center piece of the Sky Lounge showcases varies alcoholic drinks, the most unique aspect of the Lounge is the many different Taiwanese snacks showcased on each side of the lounge. I especially loved the pineapple cake and green tea/white chocolate biscuits. However, even if you don’t fully believe in Skytrax ratings, there are a few reasons why China Airlines is still not a 5 star airline. China Airlines has several lounges in both terminal 1 and 2 at Taipei Taoyuan. The Dynasty lounge in terminal 1 is the one I visited. I was really impressed by it during my previous visit when I flew on China Airlines 747 business class. Just like the 777 cabin, the lounge is beautifully designed with earthy and cozy colors. I did not sample the food this time because I was saving my appetite for China Airlines’s longhaul business class. There is a hot food section with a noodle bar similar to Cathay pacific. The service onboard is just as good as Cathay. Like EVA Air, China Airlines is removing all first class and focusing on business class as their highest level of service. While the flight attendants were professional and kind, the FAs didn’t introduce themselves nor took each passenger’s drink preferences in the same way as EVA Air. This is perfectly fine for business class and it is also similar to my experience with Cathay, but it showed how much more personal and “first class-like” the service was on EVA Air. I also had an unusual encounter with the purser, who after watching me film the Sky Lounge told me not to film it anymore and asked me about my reasons for filming. She told me that because of copyright concerns I cannot film it, and my viewers can view the Sky Lounge on China Airlines’ website instead. I had never encountered “copy right concerns” while filming a plane, especially for personal use. I told her I am not a reporter The differences between EVA Air and China Airlines is especially apparent in the catering. EVA continues to demonstrate that it goes above and beyond what you expect in business class. China Airlines seems more content with doing business class as business class. The meal was served on a tray similar to Cathay, however what was disappointing is their use of plastic bowels, which seemed out of place in such a luxuriously designed cabin. China Airlines also allows for online ordering of meals similar to EVA, but the choices seem to be the same as in the cabin and there aren’t any unique choices to pick from unlike EVA. Many airlines design their own cocktails as a way of celebrating their identity, and I was disappointed to find that China Airlines did not have any unique cocktails to try. Nevertheless, the meals and drinks are good quality and I enjoyed both. The FA made a very good batch of gin and tonic. She was initially surprised when I thanked her for making the best gin and tonic I had on a plane, thinking she had done something wrong. For the food, I really liked the beef cheeks with fettucine and the minced pork noodles. Usually airplane noodles are either overheated and dry or overcooked and mushy, but I somehow these noodles were perfect. I actually wondered if they had made it fresh on the plane because it was so perfectly cooked. The amenity kit was very disappointing. The kit itself has no branding and is the same as premium economy kits. The only differences were the extra tube of lotion and a comb and mirror. Considering the efforts they put into the cabin, I was confused why China Airlines couldn’t think of a unique Taiwanese–inspired kit and instead provided business class with the same kit as premium economy. Similar to Cathay, there is no pajamas for business class passengers. Having flown China Airlines’ premium economy, I actually think they do a better job with their premium economy service than business class in comparison to other carriers. In the end, I think China Airlines is a great carrier to fly with in both business and in premium economy, with tasty food and drinks. I think if they can smooth out some of the odd service components, such as the use of plastic bowels, the boring amenity kit, and catering, China Airlines would be one of the best airlines in the world. American Airlines Business Class 777-300ER New York JFK to London Heathrow
New York JFK to London Heathrow on AA100 in Business Class. This is one of American's 3 cabin Boeing 777-300ER which in my opinion has the best business class configuration. The crew was NYC based and very efficient, but somewhat disinterested. Service was very good and they always topped off my drink. For such a short trans-Atlantic flight, I give this one an 8 out of 10.
